Claudine Roux graduated in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College in the late 60s and later travelled extensively.
The photomontages in this exhibition reflect her response, sometimes of awe, other times with irony, to the fast changes that took place when visiting Zimbabwe, Hungary, Poland and in her local area during the late 80s and early 90s, with their technological changes.
Earlier works show her on-going preoccupation with the chaos of the Post- War era in Europe, also now reflected into the present.
Some of the works, like the embroideries, were inspired by her research in creative writing about creativity and trauma.
