Michael Bishop

Michael studied Illustration (Graphic Design BA) at Brighton University (then a Polytechnic) consequently working in London and New York as an Illustrator and gradually morphing into a painter.

 

He has exhibited In New York, notably at The Lincoln Centre and London, including Francis Kyle, Medici Gallery and Highgate Contemporary. His artistic travels have also taken him to India, Russia and Europe and he now lives and works in Brighton.

 

With these current detailed paintings of ordinary, suburban settings he works mainly in oil on canvas, combining real and imaginary subject matter, striving to evoke a mysterious, surreal quality.
